Membership Committee - Standing

Responsibilities: To recruit new members and renewals of delinquent members by personal contact. To encourage members to attend monthly meetings.

It shall be the duty of the committee to recruit membership from all reputable businesses, and any individual that will agree to follow the Bylaws, and shares an interest in the missions and objectives of the Chamber.

· Newcomer packet: Idea: Merchant coupons, restaurants

· Ribbon cutting and Ground Breaking in co-operation with City/County

· Web site maintenance: Jim Walker and Carla Berry

 

Business Development Committee - Standing

Co-Chair: Leroy Sellers 

 Members: Agnes Wages, Stan Gillies, Mike Richardson, Bill Walker, Tommy Abernathy,  Steve Kerr, Chuck Ogburn, and Mayor Joe Smith

Responsibilities: To develop a procedure and coordinate activity with area economic development organizations. To assist in the training, expansion, and/or consultation for development, acquisition and/or recruitment of business for the Dadeville area.

· Attend Lake Martin Economic Development Alliance Meeting (Chamber president is on the Board of Directors)

Goal: Attend alliance meetings monthly

Group of diverse talents as advisors/mentors - list of folks and areas of expertise available

Legislative Affairs Standing

Chair: Stan Gillies

Co-Chair:

Members: Chuck Ogburn, Mike Richardson, and Laeman Butcher

Responsibilities: To be aware of current and pending legislation relating to our communities, and to alert the officers and board members to any pending legislation that could have positive or adverse effects on our communities.

· Attend city and county meetings

· To coordinate with state senator and state representative

 

Tourism & Retirement Committee - Standing

Fundraising Committee Standing

Chair: Peggy Bullard

Members: Laeman Butcher, Katie Pritchard, Carla Berry, and Carol Sellers

Responsibilities: To identify sufficient funding sources to enable the fulfillment of the Chamber’s mission and objectives.
